“With an over abundance of MSA textbooks, finding texts that go into the detail of learning methods for Levantine Arabic is rare. What is additionally rare is textbooks that do not overwhelm you or start from an intermediate level (it seems like many other books relating to Levantine Arabic assume you have a background in MSA).

This book will get you reading, writing and speaking Levantine Arabic with confidence and not feel you left behind. You feel aided every single step of the way.

If you have a love of Levantine Arabic, the people and the culture, and you want to begin the journey of becoming proficient, then this is the only book to begin with.”

” have tried in the past to learn Arabic by going straight into learning phrases and words. I got nowhere. By beginning with the Arabic alphabet and vowels, this book provides a better method for me. You feel like you are patiently building skills that provide a secure bedrock, one that then allows you then to move much faster. Beginning slow to go fast, if you like. The exercises neatly allow these skills to be built up and secured. Highly recommend.”

“This book is excellent and the author clearly has a wealth of experience in teaching the Levantine colloquial dialect. It has clear concise examples which are used in EVERYDAY LIFE, unlike which I have found in a lot of other books. Wether you already know MSA or are starting out as a beginner, this book assumes no prior knowledge of the Arabic language and is entirely self contained.

The author introduces phrases and key pieces of vocabulary to get you to start speaking immediately, and slowly introduces grammatical concepts over time only when they are needed. It contains reference dialogues at the end of the book which are used in every day situations such as buying items in a shop or having a telephone conversation and phrases which are difficult to come by in other texts but exceptionally important. Fully recommended!”

I would definitely recommend this book for someone who wants to learn Levantine Arabic as the structure is very easy to follow. Unlike most courses which require you to memorise vocabulary and grammar. This occurs naturally through repetition in the book, expanding your vocabulary and understanding. I’m currently working my way through the book with Khaled and have noticed the volume learnt effortlessly without tedious hours of time required. You’re able to learn around your schedule. The book is filled with plenty of exercises, including oral, written and reading. As a whole the book is encouraging as you’re able to see your progression. The best part is grammar, which in theory should be very hard and complex, but the book has made this simple and comprehensible. Whilst a beginner will use this book. I recommend taking lessons with Khaled for a clearer understanding.
